Team Racing World Championship
12th August to 16th August 2026 at Stockholm
The 2026 Team Racing World Championship for keelboats will take place in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, located in Scandinavia, Northern Europe. The event will be managed by GSYS, Gamla Stans Yacht Sällskap, and will be sailed in the heart of the city, offering excellent accessibility for competitors, supporters, and curious visitors alike.
Key Information About the Event
- Team Racing format: 2x2, meaning each team will sail two boats, with a maximum of 8 team members, of whom at least 2 must be of each gender.
- Racing days will run from August 12 to August 16. Including practice opportunities on the 12th.
- The event will consist of a qualifying series and final races, sailed in J/80 keelboats, without downwind sails (Spinnakers or Gennakers).
- Racing will be umpired on the water, with officials appointed by World Sailing.
- Entry fee is set at 4.000 Euro. The fee gives participants access to breakfast, lunch, social events, Regatta Dinner and Prizegiving Ceremony.
Invitation and Selection
The championship will feature 12 teams, selected by World Sailing.
Request for Invitation should be submitted to GSYS following the publication of the Notice of Race (NOR) later this year. Requests may be submitted by MNA or directly by teams, provided they are endorsed by their MNA
