Small Trophy, Big Dreams.
The Wilson Trophy is widely regarded as the premier team racing event in the world, attracting some of the sport's most skilled exponents of the discipline, along with many fleet racing and match racing world champions, and Olympians.
Held annually each May, the Wilson Trophy takes place at the ‘theatre of dreams’ that is West Kirby Marine Lake. The unique venue is perfectly suited to team racing, with (typically) uninterrupted winds sweeping across the Dee Estuary and racing unfolding just meters from the shore. Spectators enjoy a fabulous viewpoint, enhanced by expert commentary, bringing every tactical manoeuvre and close-quarters exchange to life. This is the stadium racing that so many other disciplines are trying to re-create but West Kirby has been doing it, and doing it well, for nearly 80 years.
