If you’ve never heard of Wrath of Strath, it’s our very own, uniquely thrilling team racing event—arguably the highlight of the sailing calendar here at the University of Strathclyde Sailing Club.

Wrath of Strath isn’t your average sailing event. With its distinctive two-boat random pairing format, every race sees participants sailing alongside new teammates against randomly matched opponents. Unlike traditional three-boat racing, the dynamics here are simple but intense: ensure neither you nor your teammate cross the finish line last. This setup ensures relentless competition—every buoy becomes a battleground, every metre gained a strategic win. Races are frequently decided in dramatic finishes, some even within the final ten metres. Pure sailing adrenaline!
